Sina Villa Medici - Florence

We received a very warm welcom (Annamaria) and Concierge Staff (All) were very friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating. Our room was upgraded (thank you), a good baby cot was already present in the room when we reached, and housekeeping managed to get us an even bigger sized one on short notice.

Mainly room amenities: the fridge did not work, curtains did not close properly, there are (dangerous) nails sticking out of the wall (between entrance and room). Also, metal key is a nuisance (should be card swipe)

Excellent breakfast facilities and atmosphere.

Around the hotel area looks like a very poor district, hotel building looks poor from outside. Location is absolutely not convenient if you are coming for shopping and sightseeing

It is an extremely comfortable and well run establishment. The service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the very professional staff.drinks and meals are expensive however.if your budget allows, it is probably the best choice in florence. The pool area is a welcome oasis after visiting the numerous tourist locations in the beautiful city of florence

The hotel was a fairly priced 5***** hotel but did not represent value for money. Poor location, ripp-off prices for breakfast....a 3*** hotel will represent a much better price for money option.

Hotel is conveniently located, stylish (Florentine style) and quiet. Room was spacious with lots of space for clothing, etc.

Moldy fabric on walls; didn't know about comlimentary breakfast.

All staff that we met were were extremely friendly and courteous. Our Room was fantastic-spacious, comfortable with a wonderful view over the convent towards the hills.The outdoor pool was a joy and situated in delightful surroundings that was perfect for chilling during the day before heading into town-only 15 mins walk to Ponte Vecchio. I would gladly recommend.

Disappointed that for the price we paid that it didn't include breakfast!!prices were very expensive-eg 18 euros for a ham/cheese toastie/12 euros for a btl of beer/glass wine/7.5 euros for a coke/water etc and that was just the snack menu!!However,the food bought at the hotel was very nice we would have eaten more at the hotel if prices had been more reasonable.Although we did find a lovely pattiserie where we were able to get breakfast with great coffee and only 2mins walk from hotel. Also the 'fitness centre' was disappointing-the gym was tiny, a mirrored room with odds and ends-equipment that was present was very dated.

All in all a good experience.

Even our group ordered two bottles of Don Perignon during every dinner it was a surprise to be told in the third night that it is no more. Even the personnel had a bad feeling about the situation.

Deep pool, the best You can wish in a summer hot Florence.

The hotel is very good, we liked the room, the beautiful terrace with Florence view, the staff was very helpful, location is in 5-7 minutes walk from the very centre of Florence

Thus the room rate is not very high for such type of hotel, you should add to it the cost of parking, which has an enormous price of 50 euro per day, and the cost of breakfast, which is also expensive

The setting was very pretty, and the rooms are large. Concierge service is very good.

Check-in took a long time, there were no staff behind the desk for over 15 minutes.

Excellent comfortable rooms overlooking pool . Good breakfast buffet. Shuttle bus availble to anywhere in city. Excellent very helpful concierge.

The location to walking in to the center of Florence and to historical places is very good, although it takes about 15 - 20 min. The advice Massimo the conceirge gave us about a restaurant for our daughters 21st birthday was wonderful.

The hotel is classed as 5* but this was most probably about 20 yrs ago. The decor is tired and the facilities are in need of attention. Especially the toilet facilities around the pool. When we phoned the hotel to ask about picking us up from the train station by car, the hotel just advised us it would be a certain cost. We accepted the offer but then realised when we arrived in Florence, the hotel was in fact just 5 min from the train station by taxi which would have cost us 15 Euros. The hotel charged us 65 Euros - they could have told us this instead of ripping us off. Also the cost of food in the hotel was extortionate. 70 Euros for a sandwich and a couple of drinks around the pool, and the food itself was very mediocre. The cost of a buffet breakfast, 26 Euros for one person is also extortionate, when you could go to a really nice Trattoria around the corner where could by breakfast for four people for 25 Euros. Also we organised for a car to take us to restaurant we booked for our daughters 21st. They charged us 230 Euros for this service, they did not advise us of how much it would cost, but just proceeded to rip us off again.
